This stately chamber is named for Josiah Schlosser, eldest son of Joel and Catherine Schlosser and a pillar of the estate’s legacy. A steady hand and devoted son, Josiah guided the farm through the Civil War, including the nearby Battle of Antietam, and into a new era. The 1870 census listed his personal wealth at $1,200, a significant sum for a post-war farmer.
With rich tones, traditional paneling, and a commanding four-poster bed, The Josiah Suite embodies the dignity and permanence of the man who helped carry Willowood through a pivotal chapter in its history and that of the country.
