Designing a Dream: How Christian Salinas Brought Willowood Washington to Life
Willowood Washington is a place that feels alive—a place that welcomes you with warmth and intention. At the heart of that feeling is interior designer and owner, Christian Salinas. Best known for his work at Staging Design DC, Christian saw Willowood as more than a restoration project. It was a passion, a sanctuary he could shape from the ground up.
Christian’s decades of experience staging homes in the D.C. area taught him one fundamental truth: spaces speak to us. At Willowood he listened deeply to the story held within its walls, its rolling hills, and its century-old trees. Instead of covering up that history, he enhanced it. He chose materials and textures that felt timeless, and he arranged rooms so guests would feel both cradled and inspired.
Every detail is deliberate. In the guest suites, plush linens and natural light create the invitation to unwind. In the gathering rooms, generous seating and gathered fireplaces invite lingering conversations. Outdoors, garden paths, the springhouse, and the ancient oaks all point toward a slower rhythm of life.
Christian’s philosophy is always centered on experience. When he designed Willowood, he thought about breath, space, comfort, and connection. He asked himself what would make someone stay in a room, instead of just passing through it. The result is a home that feels both elevated and accessible—luxurious yet lived in, elegant yet inviting.
An Experience to be Shared
Willowood is a private estate where soul-led design meets heartfelt hospitality. Christian hasn’t just created beautiful rooms; he has created a place that feels like coming home. That’s the real luxury of Willowood.
